Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the father of our nation. He is the greatest Bengali of all time. The birth and existence of our nation would not be possible without him. It's because of his endless sacrifices, now we are living in a free country. He is the most charismatic leader of all time. The historical 7th March speech, given by Bangabandhu inspired us to take part in the liberation war and free our country. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born in Tungipara a village of Gopalganj (then known as Faridpur) on 17th March of 1920. His father's name is Sheikh Lutfur Rahman and his mother's name is Sayera Khatun. His parents used to call him "Khokha". From his childhood, Bangabandhu always cared and think of the people of Bangla and worked for their betterment. After the partition in 1947, Bangabandhu decided to come back to the then East Pakistan and he actively led and participated in every movement. He was sent to jail many times. Bangabandhu actively took part in the language movement in 1952. In 1966, at Lahore Bangabandhu proclaimed the famous 6 points known at a national conference. In 1968, Bangabandhu along with 34 people was arrested by the Pakistani Army because of a conspiracy known as the ' Agartala Conspiracy Case'. The arrest of Bangabandhu triggered outrage among students and general people which results in large protests and strikes. Under huge pressure, the Pakistani Government was forced to free Bangabandhu on 22nd February 1969. He was given a mass reception on 23rd February 1969 and was declared as 'Bangabandhu'( the friend of Bengali). The national election of Pakistan was held in 1970. Under Bangabandhu's leadership, Awami League achieved a massive victory. But Pakistani rulers refused to declare Bangabandhu as the President of Pakistan. As Pakistani leaders deny the election result and refused to transfer power, the non-cooperation movement began. On the 7th March speech, Bangabandhu proclaimed that this time it is the struggle for our freedom, it's the struggle for our independence.' Pakistani army arrested Bangabandhu on the 25th March of 1971 and before his arrest, Bangabandhu declared the independence of Bangladesh. After Bangabandhu's declaration, people of all kinds of life engaged in the liberation war and fight bravely to free their motherland. After 9 months of bloodshed war, we achieved our victory on 16th December 1971. Bangabandhu came back to independent Bangladesh on 10th March of 1972. Without Bangabandhu's presence, charismatic leadership, and his sacrifices, it wouldn't be possible for us to live as an independent nation but the saddest incident in history is- he was killed along with his family members in 15thAugust, 1975 by some misguided Army people. The assassinators may have killed Bangabandhu, but his ideology would remain forever. As long as - Bangladesh will survive, each and every Bengali people will remember Bangabandhu with respect and love. It is a great pleasure and matter of pride for us that this year we are celebrating Mujib Barsha, the Centennial Birth Anniversary of Bangabandhu.
Sylhet is one of the most beautiful places in Bangladesh. It's a place of natural beauty. Sylhet is widely known for having tea gardens and hills. It is also a holy place as it is known as the place of 360 awlias(saints). Last year I got the opportunity to go to Sylhet. I visited Sylhet with my family. We went there by train. I sat beside the window and enjoy the scenes through the window. I was overwhelmed by the natural scenes. After seven hours long journey, we reached Sylhet. We visited all the places of tourist attractions like- Jaflong which is near the Indian border, Ratargul swamp forest, Lauachara forest, and Tangua Haor. We spent five days in Sylhet. I enjoyed each and every moments of my Sylhet tour.
