Digital Bangladesh is a vision that has come true. Our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took a step to digitalize and improve the lives of people within 2021. The aim of digital Bangladesh is that Bangladesh will be modern and will use sophisticated technology in every sector. Digitalization involves making people literate in technology especially the rural people. All the important sectors like - health, banking, transportation, education, business, the administration should be digitalized to improve performance. Higher Education in Bangladesh

Higher education is necessary for the development of an individual. Usually, the education which is offered after higher secondary is known as higher education. In our country, higher education is provided by public and private universities and colleges that are affiliated with National University. The aim of higher education is to gather knowledge, conduct research, and development activities, learn new skills, and work for the development of society and country. For achieving a white-collar job and a better future, higher education is necessary. But earning money is not the sole purpose of achieving higher education. Higher education broadens up one's mind and makes him aware and conscious. A higher educated person can differentiate between good and bad and black and white. He can take better decisions for himself and society. The prosperity of a country depends on the number and quality of higher education. A higher educated person is far-sighted and in terms of needs, he can s...

Importance of Female Education

According to Napoleon, "Give me an educated mother, I shall promise you the birth of a civilized, educated nation." So no need to say that the development of a nation is possible only if the females, who are half of the population are educated. In our society female education is still taboo. Many people think that educating females is totally unnecessary. They believe that women are born to perform traditional roles like the role of mother, wife, and homemaker. Even some parents also do not want to educate their female child. They prefer to marry them off at a very early age. Child marriage, dowry custom, domestic violence, all these problems have a common root and that is the lack of female education. If we look around, we can see that women can perform any job as well as done by a man or she can even perform better than a man. There is not a single sector where women haven't proved themselves yet. They can also perform challenging tasks. Our country is running successf...

Blue Economy (Bangladesh Perspective)

Most of us have heard of Green Economy but Blue economy is a new emerging concept without which Green Economy cannot succeed. Like a coastal country like Bangladesh, practicing Blue Economy can cause social and economic development. Bangladesh has recently settled its dispute regarding the maritime boundary with Myanmar and India in 2012 and 2014. So the economic territory of Bangladesh is 200 nautical miles. The Bay of Bengal is filled with immense natural resources. According to the experts, there are almost 50 varieties of fishes along with snails, shell-fish, crabs, sharks, octopuses, and others. Every year Bangladesh can collect almost 8 million tons of fishes which is available in the Bay of Bengal. The sea area of Bangladesh also has natural gas fields and various minerals. The country can be profited by extract minerals and gas. As Bangladesh is a densely populated country, we can focus on seafood for fulfilling the need of protein of the people of the coastal area. Besides a...

The Padma Bridge

The dream of our Padma Bridge has come into reality. It is a multipurpose road-rail bridge across the mighty Padma. After its completion, it will be the largest bridge in Bangladesh and will serve many purposes. It will connect three districts- Munhiganj, Madaripur, and Shariatpur. The bridge will link the southwest part of the country to the northeast part. The main length of the bridge is 6.15km and the width is 18.10 meters. The bridge will have an enormous effect on our communication, economy, and industrialization. In the southern region, we do not have enough railway networks. Delta Plan -2100

Riverine Bangladesh is the largest Delta in the world. One-third portion area of this country is low land. Due to our geological location different calamities like- Flood, Famine, Cyclone, River erosion are our regular companions. Besides land erosion is also a common problem.  Every year due to river erosion, about 50-60 thousand people become homeless. Flood causes damage to lives and crops. Due to human destruction, the natural water cycle is getting constrained. As a result, the availability of drinking water is reducing every year. Moreover, global warming and sea-level rise have increased the risk of  Flood and Drought. So no need to say that facing the risk of climate change and preventing the effects of natural calamities has become one of the biggest challenges for the government. Delta Plan -2100 is the longest duration vision plan in the history of Bangladesh. As Bangladesh is primarily a delta, a long term plan for managing its water and resources i...
