It is a matter of pride that Bangladesh is now one of the countries who has launched their own satellite on orbit. Today almost all developed countries have their own satellite in the orbit. The Bangabandhu Satelite-1 was launched on 11th May 2018. The satellite was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space and Space X, a commercial space delivery organization made the launching possible. The satellite was sent to the orbit using the rocket Falcon-9. Now Bangladesh is the 57th nation of the world and 4th nation of South Asia who has their own satellite. Bangabandhu Satellite has launched in the orbit slot at longitude 119.1 degrees east. The satellite will be managed by Bangladesh Communications Satellite Company Limited. (BCSCL). It has 40 transponders. Among them, 14 are of C-band and 26 are of KU band. The country will lease 20 of it's transponders to other countries who do not have their own satellite. The satellite has two ground stations. One is located at Talibabad, Gazipur and the other is located at Betbunia, Rangamati. The launching of Bangabandhu Satelite-1 is a historic event for our country and it will also bring many benefits. At the past, Bangladesh has to spend $14million per year as satellite rent to ensure uninterrupted connectivity of Television, Radio, Telephone, and the Internet. So now we can save a huge amount of money and can also earn up to $50 million by rendering broadcasting service. Now seven private TV station and three channels are currently using BS-1. The country's first ever satellite also delivered the live coverage of the SAFF Championship on 4th September 2018 as Bangladesh was the host country. It is expected that the life span of the satellite is 15 years. We strongly believe that now the communication sector of Bangladesh will progress in several fields like- e-learning, video learning, e medicine, disaster management and helping the people of coastal areas during different natural calamities.
Sylhet is one of the most beautiful places in Bangladesh. It's a place of natural beauty. Sylhet is widely known for having tea gardens and hills. It is also a holy place as it is known as the place of 360 awlias(saints). Last year I got the opportunity to go to Sylhet. I visited Sylhet with my family. We went there by train. I sat beside the window and enjoy the scenes through the window. I was overwhelmed by the natural scenes. After seven hours long journey, we reached Sylhet. We visited all the places of tourist attractions like- Jaflong which is near the Indian border, Ratargul swamp forest, Lauachara forest, and Tangua Haor. We spent five days in Sylhet. I enjoyed each and every moments of my Sylhet tour.
