Patriotism

Patriotism is the greatest of all virtues. A person who is not patriot should not be considered as a human being. A patriot is a person who loves his own country and value this love above all. He loves his country more than his own life and is ready to sacrifice his life happily for his country. In our liberation war, many patriot freedom fighters have sacrificed their lives. Because of the sacrifice of 3 million martyrs, now we live in a free country. A patriot always thinks of the well being of his country. He will never do any act that will harm his country. He always pays his tax, never engages in any kind of corruption and always protests when he saws other people engages in corruption or any acts that will harm the country or its people. A patriot person always gives more priority about the welfare of his country and for this reason he is ready to sacrifice his own interest if necessary. My Childhood Memories

Childhood days are the most memorable time of life. Life was beautiful and there were no worries. Like others, my childhood days were very pleasant. I was born in a small village in Pabna district. I have two elder sisters and my grandparents also lived with us. Every morning I went to a morning walk with my grandfather after morning prayers. On this time nature used to be calm and silent and we chat on various topics. After returning from the morning walk I took my breakfast sitting along with my sisters. My sisters helped me to get prepared for school then together we walked for school which was very near to our house. I had many friends in school. After school, every day we played together on our school field. We also helped each other in studies. The most joyful time of the year was summer and winter vacation. During summer vacation we used to swim in the pond for hours. We used to fond collect green mangoes after the hail storm. Winter vacation used to be the most colorful time

Social Media and rumors in Bangladesh

We can't deny the fact that social media has become an essential part of our life. It fulfills many of our social needs. Social media often reflects how people of a particular society is behaving. Facebook is the most popular social media in Bangladesh. It is very popular in almost all classes of people. Many people now pass most of their leisure time on Facebook. Many also use it as a substitute for newspapers or Television. But the problem is all the news that we see on Facebook is not true. Many people or groups spread fake news using social media. Consciously or unconsciously these fake news also spread from one person to another. That's how rumor is created and spread. These rumors have a lot of devastating effects on our society. Often a specific community purposely spread rumors and hate speeches against a single person or group of other communities which often results in violence or riot. The 2012 Ramu violence against Buddhist is an example of how dangerous rumors on

My Grandfather

My grandfather is a 77 years old man. He lives with us. He is the eldest person in our house. He was a professor at a college and now he is retired. My grandfather is a very wise person. He is a bookworm person and he has a small library of his own. He passes most of his times on the library and read books. My grandfather also loves me with all his heart. He tells me stories. He also has vast knowledge in different fields and very often he helps me to complete my homework. My grandfather is also a very honest and kind person. He always has taught me that 'honesty is the best virtue' and always tells me to be kind to every living being around us. My grandfather is very popular in our village. Whenever people have to solve a dispute or need a piece of advice they come to him. He always listens to other people and tries to solve their problems. My grandfather is my idol. I always want to be like him. I always pray to almighty for his long and sound health.

Water Pollution

Water is also known as life. No single living being on this planet can survive without water. The major portion of the earth is covered with water. But pure drinking water is not widely available. Water is the most beautiful gift of nature so it's our duty to protect it from contamination. Without water, our survival will be impossible so we must conserve it. Life is very hard in deserts and drought-prone areas where it's very hard to collect water. To live, we need to eat and water is essential for growing foods. Without water, our economy, society all will be endangered. Without access to clean water, the living become jeopardized. But the water around us is polluted in many ways. Rapid industrialization is one of the major reasons for water pollution. Traditionally factories and mills are constructed on the bank of the river and it results in throwing chemicals and wastage in the water which causes water pollution. Due to the agricultural revolution for better growth of cr

Air Pollution

We all are submerged in the air. To live, we need to breathe and for breathing, we take oxygen from the air. Without air, our existence is not possible. But the air around us is contaminated day by day. Air pollution occurs through harmful chemicals, smoke, gases, tiny dust, etc. The existence of these elements makes the air harmful to breathe. Mostly air is polluted by man-made reasons. There are many causes of air pollution. Burning of fossil fuels like petroleum, coal, natural gas causes air pollution. Carbon monoxide and other harmful gases emitted from industries also responsible for air pollution. Smoke and chemicals from vehicles like car, buses, trucks also cause air pollution. Burning of agriculture and forest also causes a huge level of air pollution. Mostly people pollute the air for industrial or agricultural purpose. For example, we can mention burning in the Amazon which is also known as the 'lungs of the planet'. People have purposely set fire on different part

EID Ul Adha

Like Eid Ul Fitr, EId Ul Adha is the biggest festival of Muslims all around the world. The word Adha means the sacrifice of animals. On this day, Muslims sacrifice animals like cow, goat, camel as a symbol of sacrifice. But the inner message of Eid Ul Adha is to sacrifice the inner beast of an individual. At the end of the hajj, Muslims celebrate Eid Ul Adha. Our prophet Ibrahim (as) had a dream where Allah (swt) told him to sacrifice his most favorite thing. So when prophet Ibrahim willingly was ready to sacrifice his own son, Ismail (as), Allah told an angel to switch a lamb instead of Ismail.Qurbani or sacrifice is a must for every Muslim if he has the ability to sacrifice an animal. The meats of the sacrifice are divided into poor ones and relatives. People who do not have the ability to do sacrifice by themselves are the one who deserves to get meats from the rich ones on this day. Like Eid ul Adha, it's our every day's responsibility to sharing food and money with our p

Rural entertainment of Bangladesh

The life of the rural people in our country is completely different than the city dwellers. Even though we are moving towards becoming a developing nation, but many parts of our country are still undeveloped or underdeveloped. For example, the haor areas, flash flood-prone areas, drought-prone areas, etc. Even there are some areas where electricity has not reached or they have to face excessive power cut. So no need to say that rural people are often deprived of modern facilities and technologies. Still, the main form of their entertainment is sitting together and chatting and roaming around to the neighboring houses. The bonding between them is still deeper and stronger than each other. So in a time of need, the rural people always help each other. They also offer the hand of help on different occasions like- wedding, name giving ceremony. Rural women often help each other in stitching or making pithas. Young rural people often form a clubhouse and organize different matches like a

Future of e commerce in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a developing country. By 2021 the country will be officially graduated from less developed to developing countries. Like people of other developed countries, we also depend a lot on modern technologies. A blessing of modern technology and globalization is e-commerce. In general terms, e-commerce means buying and selling goods and services online. Traders and business persons now have set up a virtual market like the traditional market place. Due to huge traffic and lack of time, many people now prefer to carry on their purchase from online rather than going to a mall or market. For example, Bikroy.com, Daraz, Chaldal.com are some renowned virtual market where buyers and sellers both can contact with each other and fulfil their needs. Like products, there is also a market that offers services like laundry, consulting a doctor or order food. For example Sohoz .com  or Foodpanda.com. Buying and selling now have only a matter of clicking once. Some sites regularly monitor t

Metro Rail (Bangladesh Perspective)

Metro rail is the second largest project of the current government of Bangladesh. It's a long-time dream of Dhaka city dwellers as the traffic condition of the city is becoming worse day by day. People living in Dhaka are wasting much of their valuable time sitting idly in vehicles. Traffic jams also yearly cause the wastage of a huge amount of money. Many people can't reach their workplace on time. So no need to say that the metro rail has become a crying need for the people of Dhaka city. It is expected that the metro rail can be partially open at the end of 2021. Initially, the plan is to launch a 10 km stretch from Agargaon to Uttara. The total length of the project will be 20km and the line will go as far as Motijheel. It is expected that the metro rail will carry 60,000 passengers per hour. It will have stations on 16 points of the city. As a result, people will be able to move easily from one place to another. it will also reduce the number of accidents on the road. Th

Role of Social Media in Modern Life

It can be said that one of the basic needs of modern people is communication. Technology has made much easier than ever. All the people of the world are now one call or one click away from each other. Facebook, Whatsapp, Viber these are some medium which connects the people throughout the world. In the modern era, people even can't think of their lives without social media. Many people start their day by browsing at social media instead of reading a newspaper or watching television. The wide expansion of social media has made outdated all other mediums of entertainment. Social media are not only for entertainment, but they also serve many purposes. For example, many small entrepreneurs who don't afford to open a shop sell his products through social media. Many outsources can also offer his service with the help of social media. Social media also fulfill humane needs like managing blood or raising fund. However, there is no good without bad. Social media addiction can be as w

It will create a huge loss to the retired, women and many middle-class families who depend on the interest of Government Savings Certificate for their livelihood. M

Delta Plan -2100

Riverine Bangladesh is the largest Delta in the world. One-third portion area of this country is low land. Due to our geological location different calamities like- Flood, Famine, Cyclone, River erosion are our regular companions. Besides land erosion is also a common problem.  Every year due to river erosion, about 50-60 thousand people become homeless. Flood causes damage to lives and crops. Due to human destruction, the natural water cycle is getting constrained. As a result, the availability of drinking water is reducing every year.
