Air Pollution

We all are submerged in the air. To live, we need to breathe and for breathing, we take oxygen from the air. Without air, our existence is not possible. But the air around us is contaminated day by day. Air pollution occurs through harmful chemicals, smoke, gases, tiny dust, etc. The existence of these elements makes the air harmful to breathe. Mostly air is polluted by man-made reasons. There are many causes of air pollution. Burning of fossil fuels like petroleum, coal, natural gas causes air pollution. Carbon monoxide and other harmful gases emitted from industries also responsible for air pollution. Smoke and chemicals from vehicles like car, buses, trucks also cause air pollution. Burning of agriculture and forest also causes a huge level of air pollution. Mostly people pollute the air for industrial or agricultural purpose. For example, we can mention burning in the Amazon which is also known as the 'lungs of the planet'. People have purposely set fire on different parts of this forest for industrial and agricultural purposes. The burning in the forest has causes release of billions of tons of carbon in the atmosphere. Air pollution affects every living being on this planet. It also affects our weather and climate. Air pollution causes serious health injury. Diseases like asthma, tuberculosis, lungs diseases even cancer can also occur due to air pollution. City dwellers are the worse sufferer as the rate of air pollution is higher in large cities. Due to air pollution damage in ozone layer also occurs. The ozone layer protects us from ultraviolet rays. Carbon monoxide gas, which emits from vehicles and factories destroys the ozone layer. The ultraviolet rays occur skin diseases and cancer. Government and the concerning authorities should take proper steps against air pollution. Our existence is related to fresh air. So it is high time to impose laws for reducing air pollution.

Sylhet is one of the most beautiful places in Bangladesh. It's a place of natural beauty. Sylhet is widely known for having tea gardens and hills. It is also a holy place as it is known as the place of 360 awlias(saints). Last year I got the opportunity to go to Sylhet. I visited Sylhet with my family. We went there by train. I sat beside the window and enjoy the scenes through the window. I was overwhelmed by the natural scenes. After seven hours long journey, we reached Sylhet. We visited all the places of tourist attractions like- Jaflong which is near the Indian border, Ratargul swamp forest, Lauachara forest, and Tangua Haor. We spent five days in Sylhet. I enjoyed each and every moments of my Sylhet tour.
