Impacts of Social Media in Student Life

At the present time, life without social media seems quite impossible. People are getting more and more dependent on it. It is fastly spreading all over the world. Especially Facebook, Whatsapp, Viber, Twitter offer youth a portal for entertainment and connectivity. Young people, especially students are the most users of these social media. It has become an essential part of their life. The widespread use of social media helps people from different parts of the world to get connected with each other. Social media is not an unmixed blessing. They can do good to people. Besides communication, social media has positive effects on the study. Like it helps to get timely information about class and tutorials, has enhanced better communication so students can communicate with their classmates and teachers after class and discuss any topics. Social media has proved as a great platform for learning and sharing knowledge. During the pandemic, students were able to continue their classes and studies with the help of social media. Online classes now have become a very popular concept worldwide which wouldn't have been possible without the widespread uses of social media. Using social media creates plenty of opportunities for students like researching, attending webinars(web-based-seminar), learning, and most importantly connecting with their peers. However, social media can also create a lot of harm to the students. Social media platforms are highly time-consuming and addictive. The causes distraction. The addition of social media is equally harmful as drug addiction. They spend the most important period of their life-student life wasting time on social media instead of studying. Students cannot focus on their studies properly even some of them can not attend classes on time due to excessive use of social media at night. Most of the content publishes on social media is not appropriate for minor people. The news published on social media doesn't pass through necessary regulations. So spreading rumors and false news via social media is very common. Thus students can be deceived by dishonest people.the antisocials and criminals also use social media as a medium to commit different crimes like blackmailing, child-abusing, leaking of question paper, etc. Young people who are addicted to social media are far away from reality. Recently some researches show that excessive use of social media causes depression, fatigue, low self-esteem, etc.  The Millenials who have born between 1985-2005 are the ones who are getting affected by the negative sides of social media. To them, social media is as harmful as drugs or alcohol. There is no good without bad. But if we talk about social media, till now it has done more bad than good. So the young generation should be more careful regarding the uses of social media. They must not get addicted to them. it's also the responsibility of the elders to protect them from the trap. Every educational organization should provide counseling that will help their young people to get rid of the addiction to the extensive uses of social media. We should value our real life more than our virtual life. Parents should encourage social interaction and family bonding so that young people focus more on their real life. Press and media can also play a crucial role by spreading how the excess use of social media can be deleterious. So before it's become too late we all should be concerned about how to prevent the damage of social media over the future of our nation.

My Visit to Sylhet

Sylhet is one of the most beautiful places in Bangladesh. It's a place of natural beauty. Sylhet is widely known for having tea gardens and hills. It is also a holy place as it is known as the place of 360 awlias(saints). Last year I got the opportunity to go to Sylhet. I visited Sylhet with my family. We went there by train. I sat beside the window and enjoy the scenes through the window. I was overwhelmed by the natural scenes. After seven hours long journey, we reached Sylhet. We visited all the places of tourist attractions like- Jaflong which is near the Indian border, Ratargul swamp forest, Lauachara forest, and Tangua Haor. We spent five days in Sylhet. I enjoyed each and every moments of my Sylhet tour.

My country-Bangladesh

The name of our country is the People's Republic of Bangladesh. It is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Our country was a part of Pakistan before 1971. Then we freed our country and achieved victory after nine month's liberation war. 3 million people sacrificed their lives in the liberation war in 1971. Our independence day is 26th March and Victory day is 16th December. The national language of our country is Bangla. It is also a matter of great pride for us that we are the only nation that sacrificed their lives for the sake of their mother tongue on  21st February of 1952. In order to show respect to them, UNESCO has declared 21st February as International Mother Language Day. The name of the capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka. It is the busiest and populated city in our country. The total population is 16 crore. The total area of our country is 1,47,570 square km. Our country is a river-oriented country. The main rivers of our country are Padma, Jamuna, Meghna

My Pet (Bird)

Birds are the beautiful creature of almighty. I love birds. That's why on my last birthday my brother presented me a parrot. I call it Mithu. It is very beautiful. It has a red beak, long tail, and green feather. I give it foods and water. It loves to eat seeds, rice, chilies, and fruits like mango, guava. Mithu is very intelligent. She can imitate people's voice. She says almost anything that we talk. When I go to school, I put her on a cage. When I come back from school, she becomes very happy and starts shouting. She always prefers to be among us and get pampered by us.  Mithu is not only a bird but also a very good friend of mine. I love her company more than anything else. She is loved by all of my family members. We are really grateful to have her in our life.
