The Dowry System

The Dowry system can be considered as cancer for our society. Dowry is the amount of money, property or other tangible goods that the family of groom demands from the family of the bride. This system is very common in this subcontinent. Many girls have become the victim of this system and have been tortured brutally by their in-laws. Many also have tortured to death. The dowry system has destroyed many families. Nowadays women are not lagging behind. They are also working equally with the men. In every sector, women have successfully proved that they are not inferior to men. Still, in this modern age, they have become the victim of many cruel social stigmas and the dowry system is one of the worst. A large number of our women have to go through this humiliation and many often take their own lives. This is one of the reasons many people even do not want to have a girl child. Undoubtedly, we all have to stand together to remove this brutal culture. The dowry system is a heinous crime according to the law of our country. According to the dowry prohibition law of 1980, if any person abuses his law for dowry, he may be given five years of imprisonment or would be fined or both. But it's a matter of sorrow that still in 2020, many of our population are uneducated and unconscious. They even do not know that giving and receiving dowry is a crime and in most cases, they do not report to law enforcement departments. So the criminals get easy escape. So we all have to conscious and the law enforcement agencies have to take a strong step to end this heinous crime. The mass media can also play an important role to make people aware of the dowry system and the punishment for this and where the victim should report. whoever bears the torture silently are as guilty as the torturer so it's our ethical duty to prevent our society from this evil system.

My Visit to Sylhet

Sylhet is one of the most beautiful places in Bangladesh. It's a place of natural beauty. Sylhet is widely known for having tea gardens and hills. It is also a holy place as it is known as the place of 360 awlias(saints). Last year I got the opportunity to go to Sylhet. I visited Sylhet with my family. We went there by train. I sat beside the window and enjoy the scenes through the window. I was overwhelmed by the natural scenes. After seven hours long journey, we reached Sylhet. We visited all the places of tourist attractions like- Jaflong which is near the Indian border, Ratargul swamp forest, Lauachara forest, and Tangua Haor. We spent five days in Sylhet. I enjoyed each and every moments of my Sylhet tour.

The person I admire the most is our Prophet Rasulullah PBUH. I love him more than anyone else and even more than my life. He is the role model of honesty, kindness, truthfulness, and well mannered. Abdullah Bin Abdul Mutalib and Aminah Binti Wahab are his parents. He came from the greatest ethnicity in Mecca, which is Qusay Bin Kilab’s family tree from Prophet Ishmael’s generation. Muhammad (p.u.h) is a prophet sent from Allah to all humankind. He is the last prophet. He was born in Makah in the year 570. He was an orphan. So, he was raised by his uncle Abd Al Motaleb who was from a tribe called Qurays The personality of our prophet is too good that I do not have enough words to describe. He was called Al Amin because of his truthfulness. There is no one who can resemble him. He was popular even among non-Muslims because of his truthfulness, honesty, kindness, politeness, patience, and more. Prophet Muhammad is a great figure in the world, and one of the most influential peo...
