Our beloved motherland is vulnerable to different natural calamities. People of our coastal areas are vulnerable to natural disasters. Every year, one or other natural calamities occurs in our country which makes people's life miserable. The major disasters are-flood, drought, cyclone, earthquake, landslide, erosion of river back, etc. Our geographical location has made us more vulnerable to natural disasters. During Monsoon, it rains heavily which creates floods. Flood causes the destruction of human habitats, crops, livestock, etc. People suffer from diarrhea, cholera, and other waterborne diseases. There is a huge scarcity of foods and pure drinking water. Cyclones-which usually occurs in summer also cause a lot of destruction. Trees and small huts are blown away by the stormy wind. Many people become shelterless. River back erosion also has become a common scenario during monsoon. People of coastal areas lose their everything due to river erosion. The drought that occurs in Chaitra and Baishakh months destroys crops. poor people are the worst sufferers of natural calamities. Many of them become lost everything and become penniless. So creating awareness is necessary to minimize the losses. After disasters, taking the necessary measures and proper rehabilitation is also necessary. Due to excessive loads of population, our big cities are at risk of earthquakes. We should plant more and more trees and follow the building codes to keep us safe from the future risks of natural calamities.
Sylhet is one of the most beautiful places in Bangladesh. It's a place of natural beauty. Sylhet is widely known for having tea gardens and hills. It is also a holy place as it is known as the place of 360 awlias(saints). Last year I got the opportunity to go to Sylhet. I visited Sylhet with my family. We went there by train. I sat beside the window and enjoy the scenes through the window. I was overwhelmed by the natural scenes. After seven hours long journey, we reached Sylhet. We visited all the places of tourist attractions like- Jaflong which is near the Indian border, Ratargul swamp forest, Lauachara forest, and Tangua Haor. We spent five days in Sylhet. I enjoyed each and every moments of my Sylhet tour.
