A rainy day is a monotonous day. It rains all day long. In Bangladesh, usually, a rainy day happens during the rainy season. The sky overcasts with grey clouds. Most of the time it rains cats and dogs. The sun is not visible during day time. People can't go outside. Students usually stay at home and become happy as they don't have to go to school. For office going people, a rainy day is not enjoyable. The roads become muddy and slippery. It becomes hard to get any public transport. Usually, village people remain in their house on a rainy day. They sit lazily and chat with their fellow people. Women usually pass their time by engaging in creative activities like sewing and stitching. Children play football in the rain. Sometimes they also swim in the river. The city people celebrate a rainy day in a different way. If they don't need to go outside then they stay home, eat khichuri and hilsha fry, listen to music or read a book. Children pass their times by playing indoor games like hide and seek or ludu. Nature lovers adore rainy days. Nature and trees become fresh and green on a rainy day. Flowers bloom and leaves become greener. The cold breeze after rain refreshes the mind of all. However, a rainy day is a curse for poor people who live from hand to mouth. Especially day laborers become the worst sufferers. They could hardly manage any work on a rainy day. The street and homeless people's sufferings on a rainy day is also beyond description. Most of the time they starve on a rainy day. But after the scorching heat of summer, a rainy day brings pleasure to all.
Sylhet is one of the most beautiful places in Bangladesh. It's a place of natural beauty. Sylhet is widely known for having tea gardens and hills. It is also a holy place as it is known as the place of 360 awlias(saints). Last year I got the opportunity to go to Sylhet. I visited Sylhet with my family. We went there by train. I sat beside the window and enjoy the scenes through the window. I was overwhelmed by the natural scenes. After seven hours long journey, we reached Sylhet. We visited all the places of tourist attractions like- Jaflong which is near the Indian border, Ratargul swamp forest, Lauachara forest, and Tangua Haor. We spent five days in Sylhet. I enjoyed each and every moments of my Sylhet tour.
