The Victory Day (Bangladesh)

The 16th of December is the gala day for Bangladesh. It is our victory day. According to the London Times, "If blood is the price of independence, then Bangladesh has paid the highest price in history."After 9 months of blood shaded war, finally, we achieved our long-awaited victory on 16th December 1971. The Pakistani army has surrendered to Mitro Bahini on this day at the Ramna Race Course Garden in Dhaka. Victory day is celebrated all over the country. The day is a national holiday in Bangladesh. The national flag is hoisted almost on the top of every building. The day starts with the gunshot. National parade and displays are organized every year. People from all walks of life celebrate victory day. The whole country turns on the festive mood. Improved diet is given to prisoners and patients admitted to the hospital. With great respect and love, we remember our martyrs and freedom fighters of the liberation war, the heroic sons of the nations. Because of their sacrifices now we are living in a free country. Our honorable Prime Minister, President other political leaders, and general people also visit the National Martyr's Memorial located at Savar. They pay their tribute by offering flowers. Different government and non-government organizations also pay tribute to the martyrs who have sacrificed their precious lives for our freedom. Victory day is a day of joy, pride, inspiration. We should always remember that very few countries in the world have achieved freedom by winning the war. Luckily we are one of them. Our independence is hard-earned. So it's our duty as a citizen of Bangladesh to work hard for the betterment of our country. This year we are going to celebrate the 49th Victory day.30lakh people have martyred during our liberation war. Our war heroines also have gone through unbearable torture of the Pakistani armies and the collaborators. So we should never forget about their tremendous sacrifices and it's our duty to uphold and protect our country from the enemies both inside and outside.

My Visit to Sylhet

Sylhet is one of the most beautiful places in Bangladesh. It's a place of natural beauty. Sylhet is widely known for having tea gardens and hills. It is also a holy place as it is known as the place of 360 awlias(saints). Last year I got the opportunity to go to Sylhet. I visited Sylhet with my family. We went there by train. I sat beside the window and enjoy the scenes through the window. I was overwhelmed by the natural scenes. After seven hours long journey, we reached Sylhet. We visited all the places of tourist attractions like- Jaflong which is near the Indian border, Ratargul swamp forest, Lauachara forest, and Tangua Haor. We spent five days in Sylhet. I enjoyed each and every moments of my Sylhet tour.

It is also a matter of great pride for us that we are the only nation that sacrificed their lives for the sake of their mother tongue on  21st February of 1952. In order to show respect to them, UNESCO has declared 21st February as International Mother Language Day. The name of the capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka. My Pet (Bird)

Birds are the beautiful creature of almighty. I love birds. That's why on my last birthday my brother presented me a parrot. I call it Mithu. It is very beautiful. It has a red beak, long tail, and green feather. I give it foods and water. It loves to eat seeds, rice, chilies, and fruits like mango, guava. Mithu is very intelligent. She can imitate people's voice. She says almost anything that we talk. When I go to school, I put her on a cage. When I come back from school, she becomes very happy and starts shouting. She always prefers to be among us and get pampered by us.  Mithu is not only a bird but also a very good friend of mine. I love her company more than anything else. She is loved by all of my family members. We are really grateful to have her in our life.
